Our Mission
This initiative is to enable hobbyists of ant keeping at all experience levels to grow and share information on upcoming and new species of ants.
How?
With all participants starting off with colonies at the exact same age and state of growth.
What are we growing?
Our first GTI species will be a Camponotus (surprise!)
To facilitate our GTI we gained a large supply of identical queens caught in the same location on the same night by a single ant-catcher!
They are stored in identical glass test tubes and were kept in a container in the same conditions for the last 3 months while they tended to their brood.
Almost 100% of these queens now have their first workers breaking through.
In perfect timing for both species identification and for the GTI launch!
Not to worry! This species is relatively new to Ant-keeping so you very likely will be adding a new species to your collection!
